Working Principle
The MDXH series uses a closed-loop heat pump drying process, combining heated circulating air with condensation-based moisture removal.
Load Fresh Mushrooms
Fresh mushrooms are cleaned, sorted, and prepared according to the required drying process. The mushrooms are then evenly distributed on the drying trays.
The three models accommodate 30, 60, or 90 trays, depending on the required production scale.
Load the Drying Chamber
The trays are placed inside the drying chamber in the designated positions. Proper distribution helps the circulating air reach the product during the drying process.
Heat the Circulating Air
The heat pump system generates heat and raises the temperature of the circulating air. The system can provide an outlet air temperature of approximately 65–80°C according to the supplied specifications.
Auxiliary electric heating is also incorporated into the equipment configuration to provide additional heating capacity when required.
Circulate Hot Air
The circulation fan continuously moves heated air through the drying chamber and across the mushroom trays.
Different models provide different circulation air volumes:
- MDXH30C:5,000–7,500 m³/h
- MDXH60C:10,000–15,000 m³/h
- MDXH90C: 18,000–28,000 m³/h
Remove Moisture by Condensation
As moisture evaporates from the mushrooms, water vapor enters the circulating air. The drying system uses condensation to remove the moisture from the air, allowing the drying process to continue in a controlled closed-loop environment.
Automatic Environmental Control
The dryer incorporates an automatic temperature and humidity control system. This allows the drying conditions to be managed according to the product and drying stage rather than relying entirely on manual operation.
Suitable Raw Materials and Mushroom Species
The MDXH series is primarily designed for fresh mushrooms and prepared mushroom products requiring hot-air dehydration.
Typical mushroom applications may include:
- Shiitake mushrooms
- Oyster mushrooms
- Wood ear mushrooms
- Black fungus
- King oyster mushrooms
- Enoki mushrooms
- Lion’s mane mushrooms
- Other edible mushrooms suitable for controlled hot-air drying
The machines can also potentially be used for compatible agricultural and food products, provided their drying temperature and moisture-removal requirements are compatible with the equipment.
For mushroom processing, raw materials should generally be cleaned, sorted, and prepared before being distributed evenly across the trays.
The final drying parameters depend on factors such as mushroom species, slice or whole-mushroom size, initial moisture content, desired final moisture level, tray loading density, and required product characteristics.
Capacity / Production Scale & Automation Level
The three models are designed to cover different mushroom-processing scales.
MDXH30C — 30-Tray Configuration
The MDXH30C provides 30 trays and is recommended for fresh product loads of up to approximately 350 kg according to the supplied specifications.
It is suitable for smaller commercial mushroom processors, farms, and processing facilities that need a compact heat pump drying system.
MDXH60C — 60-Tray Configuration
The MDXH60C provides 60 trays and a recommended fresh product load of up to approximately 600 kg.
Its higher circulation airflow and 14.0 kW rated heating capacity make it suitable for larger commercial processing operations.
MDXH90C — 90-Tray Configuration
The MDXH90C provides 90 trays and a recommended fresh product load of up to approximately 900 kg.
With a rated heating capacity of 19.2 kW and circulation airflow of 18,000–28,000 m³/h, it is designed for higher-volume mushroom drying operations.
Automation Level
The MDXH series uses an automated temperature and humidity control system, while loading and unloading remain operator-assisted processes.
The actual finished-product output should not be calculated simply from the maximum fresh load because final capacity depends on the mushroom’s initial moisture content, desired final moisture level, loading density, and drying cycle.
Integration with Mushroom Processing Equipment
Upstream Equipment
The MDXH series can be used after:
- Mushroom Harvesting / Collection Equipment
- Mushroom Sorting Equipment
- Mushroom Cleaning Equipment
- Mushroom Cutting or Slicing Equipment
- Food-Grade Conveyor Systems
For farms that process their own mushrooms, the dryer can also be connected operationally with fruiting rooms, mushroom cultivation racks, and post-harvest handling areas.
Downstream Equipment
After drying, products can be transferred to:
- Cooling or Conditioning Equipment
- Mushroom Packaging Machines
- Vacuum Packaging Equipment
- Weighing and Filling Equipment
- Finished Product Storage Systems
The dryer therefore serves as a key post-harvest dehydration stage in a commercial mushroom processing line.

FAQ
The main differences are tray quantity, machine size, heating capacity, airflow, power, and recommended fresh-product load.
- MDXH30C:30 trays, ≤350 kg recommended fresh load
- MDXH60C:60 trays, ≤600 kg recommended fresh load
- MDXH90C:90 trays, ≤900 kg recommended fresh load
The appropriate model depends on the customer’s batch size and processing requirements.
The specified outlet air temperature range is 65–80°C. The actual operating temperature should be selected according to the mushroom species, product condition, desired moisture level, and drying process.
The supplied recommended fresh-product loads are up to approximately 350 kg for MDXH30C, 600 kg for MDXH60C, and 900 kg for MDXH90C. Actual loading should also consider mushroom size, tray distribution, moisture content, and drying requirements.
The main heating method is heat pump technology, while auxiliary electric heating is also included. For MDXH30C, MDXH60C, and MDXH90C, the auxiliary electric heating capacities are 2.4 kW, 9 kW, and 9 kW, respectively.
Yes. It can be positioned between post-harvest preparation and packaging, working with sorting, cleaning, cutting, conveying, cooling, weighing, and packaging equipment. For a complete project, the drying capacity and upstream/downstream equipment should be matched according to the customer’s batch size and workflow.
