Straw Crusher / Shredder is professional raw material processing equipment designed for edible mushroom substrate production. It cuts and shreds agricultural waste such as rice straw, wheat straw and corn stalks into suitable particle sizes, improving substrate uniformity, reducing manual preparation work and providing stable raw materials for oyster mushroom, shiitake mushroom and other bag cultivation systems.
The equipment adopts a blade wheel structure with high-speed rotating cutting components. Different models are available according to production capacity requirements, from small farms to commercial mushroom factories. The crushed straw can be directly used for substrate mixing after processing, helping mushroom growers build a more efficient production workflow.

The blade-type crushing structure is especially suitable for fibrous materials such as straw, where cutting and shredding performance is more important than fine grinding. Similar straw crusher systems are commonly used to process wheat straw, rice straw and corn stalks into mushroom substrate materials.

Dry straw materials such as rice straw, wheat straw or corn stalks are manually or automatically fed into the machine inlet.
For larger production systems, feeding conveyors can be added to improve continuous operation and reduce labor requirements.
High-Speed Cutting and Shredding
After entering the crushing chamber, the material contacts the rotating blade wheel.
The high-speed rotating blades cut the long fibers into shorter pieces. The repeated cutting action helps produce more uniform straw particles suitable for mushroom substrate preparation.
